Our founder, Dr Adeola Olubamiji was featured on one of Canada’s most prestigious magazines, Afroglobal Television’s Excellence Magazine. She said, “I have admired Afroglobal Television’s Excellence Magazine and read all their editions that I could lay my hands on regularly. Why? This is an easy way to get to know the black achievers in Canada and to get to know what our community is up to.
I remembered reading about Dr. Lisa Egbogah and her trailblazing work and exceptional personality. I ofcourse thought I was too young to be among the excellence shared in all of their editions.
Aunt Lara Ayo-Akerele one time told me that she was convinced that one day she would share the magazine edition and point to a page where her baby sister Adeola will be featured. To be featured in the most prestigious magazine dedicated to people of African descent in Canada is yet again an experience that I am so thankful for.And finally, a dream that my Aunt called to life (because I have the best big sister who gas me up and makes me feel like a superstar ). “
Her advice to young people; “DREAM and DREAM BIG! Who would have thought that a girl who used to be a cleaner in Finland and was still a sales girl at SEPHORA 3 years ago, will be labeled a figure of excellence?”
If you are in Toronto attending Afrofest this weekend, please stop by the Afroglobal stand to pick up copies of the Excellence magazine Spring Edition.
Flip through the pages to learn about so many beautiful stories of those who look like you. Don’t worry about cost, it’s free! Thanks to the entire Afroglobal TV crew.
