1. University of Chicago: UChicago is ‘Need aware’. They are very generous with aid and usually finance the tuition fee, cost of living, books and personal expenses. In addition to financial aid, UChicago offers Merit scholarships are partial-tuition scholarships. The vast majority of doctoral students receive a full, five-year package, including tuition and a stipend. Master’s programs differ more widely, with many offering some merit aid awards, and a few offering need based aid.

2. Columbia University: They gave $13m in international financial aid to undergraduates. Columbia is ‘Need aware’ – However, if you are highly qualified and they select you, they guarantee to meet 100% of all demonstrated financial need for all four years, regardless of citizenship.

3. Williams College: They gave full financial aid to about 50-100 international students last year.Please note that if an international applicant intends to apply for financial aid at any point during their time at Williams, they MUST submit an application for financial aid prior to their admission. 

4. Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Scholarships
Full scholarships cover tuition fees (CHF 18,000) and living expenses in Geneva for 10 months

Deadline for applications is 1 February 2019.

5. A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge including tuition fees, maintenance allowance, travel costs, etc.
Deadline: 5 December 2018/3 January 2019

6. International Ambassador Scholarships at University of West London

Any full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of West London

Deadline: 25 November 2018.

7. Win a scholarship that covers up to 100 % of the tuition fees and monthly allowance for Bachelor’s & Master’s degree programs at the Russian IT University.

8. Endeavour Postgraduate Leadership Award provides for international students
Masters or PhD level either by coursework or research in any field in Australia

9. University of British Columbia, Canada

Note that new applicants to our MA and PhD programs will automatically be considered for any UBC-based funding, and don’t need to apply for this separately.

10. University of Rochester, Department of Linguistics

The Department of Linguistics invites applications from students interested in pursuing a fully-funded joint PhD program in Linguistics focusing on cross-disciplinary training and collaboration.

11. University of South Carolina, College of Arts and Sciences: All PhD students in the program are fully supported for 4 years.

12. University of Pittsburgh, Department of Linguistics: Funding can be renewed for up to a maximum total of 5 years for a PhD student & includes a fellowship covering all tuition and fees, full medical coverage and a stipend earned through assistantship.

13. Northwestern University, Department of Linguistics(Evanston, IL):
PhD students are typically full-time students and are fully-funded.

14. University of California Santa Cruz, Department of Linguistics (Santa Cruz, CA): An informal promise is made to each student admitted to the Ph.D. program that they will receive funding for the 5 years that it takes to complete the Ph.D.

15. University of Hawaii at Manoa, Department of Linguistics (Honolulu, HI): Graduate Assistantships includes both a full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend, currently worth currently worth approximately $18,204 per year for PhD students.

16. Brown University, Department of Linguistics Five years of guaranteed financial support, including a stipend, tuition remission, health-services fee, and health- and dental-insurance subsidies

17. Harvard University Fully Funded PhD Program in Biological Sciences in Public Health

All admitted students including international students, are guaranteed full funding, which includes a stipend, as well as tuition and health insurance.

18. Public Health and Health Systems (PhD)

A variety of scholarships, assistantships, and other forms of financial aid are available for graduate students in the School of Public Health and Health Systems.

19. POPULATION AND PUBLIC HEALTH (PhD)
All full-time students who begin a UBC-Vancouver PhD program in September 2018 or later will be provided with a funding package of at least $18,000 for each of the first four years of their PhD.

20. The Delft University of Technology offers a number of excellence scholarship programs for international students.
