In line with our commitment to giving back to communities and inspiring the next generation of scientists, STEMHub Foundation sponsored the 2018 NaijaHacks Hackathon.
While Naijahacks received 800 applications, 300 of the best applications were selected to participate in the competition. Without a doubt, this year’s hackathon showcased the innovative nature of Nigerian youths as competitors developed amazing projects. These projects include blockchain technology to enable e-voting, an e-music distribution app that helps new artists share music with consumers, detection of farm diseases by analysis of pictures of affected leaves, e-finance for farmers that bypasses banks among others.
We were inspired by the problem solving skills participants displayed and strongly believe that Africans can solve Africa’s problems.
