Dr. Charles Nwaizu-Director, STEMscholars
Dr. Charles Nwaizu is an Assistant Professor of Intelligent Food Design Innovation and Engineering Practice in the Department of Food Science and Technology, University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
Before his appointment at the University of Nebraska, he was a Research Associate in the Department of Biosystems Engineering, University of Manitoba, Canada, and a Senior Research Scientist with Civeo Inc.
Dr. Nwaizu is strongly concerned about subjects on re-thinking education in Africa as a tool to eradicate poverty and develop inspiring leaders. For many years, he has run an initiative to encourage and mentor Nigerian undergraduates interested in postgraduate study in the US and Canada. Dr. Nwaizu’s goal is to build a generation of highly educated Africans who will hopefully go back to innovate and light up Africa.
Sheddine Bennett-Director, Program Curriculum
Sheddine Bennett is an accomplished Internal Audit & Control, Risk Management, Compliance Professional, Financial Crime (Fraud, AML) & Data Privacy Enthusiast, and a Devoted Volunteer & Mentor. She has over a decade of experience, providing independent and objective risk-based assurance and consulting services within the private and public sectors.
She has earned key internationally recognized professional credentials from the Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA, CFSA, CRMA, CGAP), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Ontario, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS); demonstrating her commitment to advancement and breadth of knowledge relevant to Internal Control & Enterprise Risk Management frameworks, Audit & Accounting Standards, and Financial Crime Compliance, Prevention, Detection, and Enforcement/Investigation – Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorist Financing, Sanctions, and Fraud Management.
Johnson Omeziri-Director, Web Management
Johnson Omeziri is currently a mechanical engineer with Cascade corporation, an industry leader in material handling applications. He has tremendous knowledge in mechanical design and supervises the technical documentation for products within Cascade corporation.
Johnson has a first-class degree in mechanical engineering from York University and has been published at a notable conference.
An avid educator with a passion for teaching young minds, Johnson mentors, and supervises aspiring mechanical engineers. He joined STEMHub foundation post-university to continue pursuing his passion for STEM education.
