17th May of every year is marked globally as World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) to create awareness about the importance and benefits of information and communication technologies (ICTs).
“Accelerating digital transformation in challenging times” which is this year’s theme, sheds light on how information and communication technologies (ICTs) helped withstand the unexpected devastating effect of the COVID 19 pandemic. In the past year, ICT has proven to be a powerful tool in grounding the world’s socio-economic and health systems. Thanks to ICT, STEMHub Foundation has been able to remotely deliver its programs to hundreds of people across the world.
As #DigitalTransformation accelerates, there is a huge digital divide. About half of the world’s population does not have access to the internet. STEMHub Foundation joins the call for connectivity that is safe, inclusive, and affordable to ensure we can all work from home, learn from home, and have access to telehealth.
