STEMHub Foundation is pleased to announce the commencement of 10 for 100 stemming workshops for youths. The workshop will begin from February 12, 2022 – April 16, 2022.
The stemming workshops will teach 100 youths between the ages of 11-14 and grades 6-9 cutting-edge STEM topics such as robotics, graphic design, and Space and Astronomy. Participants will be split into four cohorts and STEMHub Foundation will provide all materials and workshops free of cost to all participants.
We received over 300 applications for 10 for 100 stemming workshops this year. Priority was given to applicants from Greater Toronto Areas and Ontario. Applicants who were not accepted into the program have been placed on a waiting list for our fall program.
10 for 100 is supported by the Black Professionals in Tech Network initiative in partnership with RBC Future Launch, and the Government of Ontario. STEMHub Foundation also received support from the Government of Canada’s Supporting Black Canadian Communities Initiative, the Black Business Initiative, and the Healthy Communities Initiative.
In 2021, STEMHub Foundation conducted 20 stemming workshops over 20 weeks for 20 youths aged 11-14. We received fantastic feedback from our participants. 80% learned new skills and 75% created something new with the skills they learned.
