STEMHub Foundation is thrilled to announce the appointment of three new directors, bringing the total number of directors on the board to TEN. They pledge to bring a wealth of experience to STEMHub Foundation and to assist the organization in fulfilling its mission. Among the new directors are professionals from the fields of finance, fundraising, government and business affairs, and STEM. According to Dr. Adeola Olubamiji, CEO and founder of STEMHub Foundation, these new members of the board will provide valuable perspectives on STEM education that will help promote underprivileged communities in the country.
Meet our new board of directors:
1. Habibat Abidemi (Abi) Ameen: Director of Finance
Abi Ameen holds an MSc in Financial Management, a BSc in Accounting, and a Diploma in International Affairs and Strategic Studies, and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountant and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Abi is a passionate and experienced accounting professional with over 12 years of great expertise in Accounting and Finance in the UK and Canada. Her extensive experience includes excellent practical knowledge in a variety of industries, including oil and gas, manufacturing, charitable organizations, and the public sector. She has advocated for best practises in accounting, as well as developed and implemented various procedures and system improvements. Her mission is to increase corporate performance, encourage strategic growth, and support solid concepts that results in significant developments in any organisation.
Olayinka (‘Yinka) Awoyemi (Ph.D): Director of STEM Programs
Olayinka (‘Yinka) Awoyemi is a Public Health Scholar with a background in statistics. He is a Manager in charge of Data and Analytics at an Insurance company in Canada. He has functioned in various capacities in the past, such as, Data Scientist, Advanced Analytic Specialist, Statistical Analyst, Statistician, etc. As a scholar, his research interest focuses on vulnerable populations.Yinka is an avid football enthusiast, cheering on Valor FC of Winnipeg, Arsenal FC of England, and 3SC of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Anjana Meel (Ph.D): Director of Government and Corporate Relations
Dr. Anjana Meel is a Climate Change Professional with expertise in low-carbon fuel policies and deep decarbonization.Dr. Meel currently works at Ontario Public Service and has over 15 years of experience in the public and private sector in technical, business development and policy development roles in both the United States and Canada. Dr. Meel earned her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from IIT Bombay and her doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. She is now pursuing an executive MBA at Rotman School of Management. Dr. Meel likes travelling, cooking, and long-distance running in her leisure time.
